Review 67: Blue Sky

Art: 7
Plot: 6
Characters: 8
Sex: 6

Yes, I know, harsh scores. Well, this one deserves it. The plot is extremely simple and is based on this 'prophecy' that the R.A. of the Seiran Dormitory will end up having sex with his roommate. And it comes true despite the roommate being the Prince of Ice. Okay, wow, that's it. Nothing else. Oh, and there's a side-story that's a typical forbidden love between a teacher and student, where the teacher looks about twelve. You know, the usual.

The art is good, but there isn't a lot of creativity. The 'funny' expressions aren't that amusing, just silly. And the seme and uke look exactly the same on the cover. Wha-huh?

The plot, as mentioned above, is far too simple to be satisfactory. Oh, they use the 'Caring for the Sick Uke' plot device. That one's on my hit-list.

The characters aren't that likeable. Normally I enjoy reading the Ice Prince type, but this one is like that because of childhood trauma. Not as fun as the ones that are simply too haughty for relationships. And the seme is a perv - I mean, he "rigs the room selection process and picks the beautiful [guy] to be his roommate."(from back of manga)

The sex doesn't even truly happen in the main story, which makes it a bust. There is sex in the teacher-student plot, but as I already mentioned, the teacher looks underage. Ridiculoooooouuus.

All in all, 27. Hit 'em where it hurts.

Recommendation: Why not try something with a decent plot and prettier characters? If you're looking for a good school-based yaoi, try "I Want to be Naughty!" or "I Don't Dislike You". Sakuraga Mei is always a good idea!
